Meet Our Team
Steve has been in the auction industry for over 5 years. He specializes in Real Estate Auctions, having sold everything from raw land to commercial projects through the auction method of marketing. Steve has completed the distinguished Accredited Auctioneer of Real Estate designation (AARE) and is a third year candidate in the prestigious Certified Auctioneer’s Institute (CAI). He has years of experience as a successful real estate investor. He is a member of several organizations including National Auctioneers Association, National Association of Realtors, American Bankruptcy Institute and the Home Builders Association. Steve is a Certified Estate Specialist and a Certified Probate Specialist. He is a recognized as an expert in the real estate field and had been asked to speak at numerous events, including those organized by members of the United States Congress.
Prior to becoming an Auctioneer, Steve was a police office for the City of Benicia for 10 years. He also managed accounts for numerous Fortune 100 companies, including Target and FedEx.
When Steve is not selling real estate, he enjoys spending time with his wife Jennifer and their daughter Rachel.
Rodney Kennedy - AARE, ATS, CES

Rodney has worked in the auction industry over four years. He oversees activities at Northern California locations and manages Information Technology for SIMA Auctions. His broad experience with technology and operations provides expertise in implementing strategic goals. Rodney is responsible for integrating new tools and processes within the World Wide Web and the Internet such as websites, online bidding, online documentation, and streaming video tours.
Rodney has completed the requirements and obtained the notable Accredited Auctioneer, Real Estate (AARE) designation. He has also earned the Auction Technology Specialist (ATS) designation, is a second year candidate in the Certified Auctioneer's Institute (CAI), is Certified Estate Specialist (CES), a Certified Probate Specialist, and is a member of the National Auctioneers Association (NAA) and the California State Auctioneers Association. Rodney graduated as a bid caller from the World Champion College of Auctioneering and has successfully completed training at the Professional Ringmen’s Institute (PRI). Prior to becoming an Auctioneer, he was a Firefighter and managed safety and compliance issues for a medium size company.
When Rodney is not analyzing technical decisions and systems, he spends time playing percussion, swinging his golf clubs, and of course, romancing his wife Stacy.
Bruce Lawrence has had a career spanning four decades in real estate brokerage, residential loan origination and auctioneering. He has owned and managed companies that represented major banks, savings and loans and national builders. Known widely as an innovator and creative problem solver, he was one of the first to recognize and respond to the current financial crisis surrounding the residential real estate market.
Prior to SIMA Auctions, Bruce was the Chairman and Chief Operating Officer of Auction Marketing Services, Inc. He is a professional auctioneer, holds a Bachelor degree in marketing management, is a licensed California real estate broker and consults nationally on real estate disposition and loss mitigation issues.

Stacy Kennedy is an Auction Marketing Specialist with concentrated expertise in benefit auctions. Prior to establishing her auction marketing business, Stacy enjoyed six years as a Spanish teacher & proudly served five years as a United States Army Spanish Linguist.
She is no stranger to the benefits of higher education. She earned a B.A. from Wheaton College, the Maxwell D. Taylor Award for Academic Excellence from the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, and an M.S. from California State University Hayward. She is also a graduate of the Word Champion College of Auctioneering, and National Auctioneers Association courses of “Certified Estate Specialist” and “Benefit Auctioneer Specialist”. In her spare time she enjoys participating in volunteer activities with her church, hosting fun-filled game nights for friends, and cherishing quality time with her fabulous husband Rodney.
Cheryl comes to SIMA Auctions with over 18 years of experience in the Real Estate industry. Cheryl’s expertise includes high volume production environments, quality control, efficiencies, title and escrow, customer service, as well as interacting with national and local Real Estate and Lending professionals.
Prior to joining the SIMA team, Cheryl managed a Northern California Division of North American Title Company which included both National Title Services and Contra Costa County. Cheryl is also a licensed California Real Estate Salesperson.
When Cheryl is not facilitating the auction process she enjoys reading, walking with her dog, watching movies, and spending time with her family and friends.
